About the role
eWay Corp is a managed WebOps and cloud infrastructure operator serving government, higher education, nonprofits, healthcare, and commercial organizations across the United States. We are an AWS Solution Provider Partner and a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider.
We are hiring a hands on AWS Cloud Engineer with strong Linux and networking fundamentals, focused on troubleshooting, incident resolution, and operational excellence in a managed services environment. This role is aligned to 24x7 SLA driven support and requires deep technical diagnostics across infrastructure layers, along with the ability to contribute to stable, scalable AWS architectures.
Responsibilities
- Own L2 support for production AWS environments operating under 24x7x365 SLA commitments.
- Respond to incidents, perform deep troubleshooting, and drive root cause analysis toward permanent resolution.
- Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure availability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Troubleshoot issues across AWS networking, the Linux OS, web servers, and database connectivity.
- Support and optimize AWS compute, storage, database, and load balancing layers.
- Collaborate with DevOps, application, and security teams to resolve issues and improve reliability.
- Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and high availability configurations.
- Analyze logs and metrics using CloudWatch and other tools to proactively identify risks and bottlenecks.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation using CloudFormation or similar infrastructure as code tools.
- Maintain accurate documentation of environments, incidents, and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of hands on experience supporting production workloads on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of AWS core services including VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, ELB and ALB, Auto Scaling, EBS, EFS, and WAF.
- Solid understanding of AWS networking including subnets, route tables, NAT, DNS, security groups, and NACLs.
- Strong Linux systems administration skills, including performance tuning and troubleshooting at the OS and network layers.
- Experience with web servers such as Apache and Nginx.
- Working knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, or similar relational databases.
- Strong troubleshooting across infrastructure, application connectivity, and performance issues.
- Familiarity with firewall concepts and traffic filtering.
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple incidents in parallel.
Nice to have
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Associate or Professional.
- Experience in managed hosting or MSP environments with SLA driven operations.
- Exposure to infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Basic scripting in Bash or Python for operational automation.
- Understanding of AWS security best practices including IAM and WAF.
- Exposure to cost optimization and performance tuning in AWS.
Education
- BCA or B.Tech.
- MCA or M.Tech.
