Booster Pak
With Booster Pak, our mission is to help at risk students and teens in the West Des Moines Community Schools reach their fullest potential by reducing childhood hunger and promoting health and wellness. The program provides healthy, kid friendly food to at-risk elementary students and personal care and baby items for at-risk teens. Our program is currently serving over 300 students at Clive, Crossroads, Crestview, Fairmeadows, Hillside, Phenix, Western Hills, Westridge and Walnut Creek Alternative Campus.

West Des Moines Chamber Ambassadors The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce is an action-oriented organization. Individuals and businesses work through the Chamber to advance economic growth while ensuring a premier standard of living for residents. The Chamber asserts a leadership role in the areas of business retention, business recruitment, the development of increased business and tourism opportunities, and promotion of the quality of life offered in West Des Moines.

Cedar Rapids Chamber
The Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce was organized and began operations in 1881 as the Cedar Rapids Board of Trade. One of its first presidents was Dr. John F. Ely, son of one of Cedar Rapids’ founders. Several years later, the Manufacturers and Jobbers Association was founded, apparently operating as an auxiliary of the Board of Trade. Constant and continual efforts were made by the Board of Trade and the Association to attract new businesses and industries to the city. In 1881, the Board of Trade was successful in securing the first convention – the National Cheese, Butter and Egg Convention.

Food Bank of Iowa
The Food Bank of Iowa, founded in 1982, is a private, non-profit charitable organization whose mission is alleviating hunger through food distribution, partnership, and education. The Food Bank of Iowa solicits, receives, inventories and distributes donated food and grocery products. These products are distributed to partner agencies in 42 Iowa counties who directly serve needy families and individuals through a variety of programs. As a non-profit food bank, our primary role is to provide food to the charitable agencies offering direct service to hungry Iowans.

On behalf of more than 1,000 members, the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce actively fosters a better business environment through community and economic development, member services and public policy advocacy. We serve the communities of Coralville, Iowa City, North Liberty and Solon.

The West Des Moines Leadership Academy (WDMLA) is an intensive, regionally-oriented leadership development program designed to give potential and emerging leaders the skills, knowledge, and on-going support they need to succeed in the West Des Moines community. It is designed for outstanding individuals who desire to sharpen their leadership skills and gain a greater understanding of the region’s economy and community networks. While many fine national leadership development programs exist, we offer a regionally-focused program—taught by local leaders for local leaders.

Des Moines Balavihar
Bal-Vihar program is an initiative by the Hindu Temple of Iowa located midway between Ames and Des Moines in Madrid, IA. The program is run by volunteers who care about preserving Indian culture and believe in moral values that are important to living a fulfilling, generous and positive life.
